In a nutshell

This role is an outstanding opportunity to be at the forefront of ensuring the LHR operation runs flawlessly, meets customer needs, and controls costs. As a Demand Analyst, you'll be responsible for crafting forecast models and capacity plans that determine accurate future demand profiles to optimize staff utilization. This role is pivotal to ensuring that all LHR operational departments are fully optimized. You'll ensure detailed pax transfer ratios, load factors, pax footfall, and overall transaction times, ultimately improving passenger experiences while maintaining a robust operation. This is a new role with huge potential to make a positive contribution to all our teams at the airport.

Day to day

  • Predicting future passenger volumes and other customer interactions based on historical data, seasonality, and other relevant factors.
  • Monitoring various scenarios and contingency plans for unexpected fluctuations in traffic volume
  • Utilising workforce management software and other tools to aid in forecasting and scheduling, making recommendations for improvements or upgrades to these tools.
  • Balancing service goals with cost considerations. Finding ways to optimise staffing levels to reduce overstaffing or understaffing.
  • Collecting and analysing data from various sources, such as transfer history, load factors, engagement times, and customer interactions, using statistical models and tools to make accurate forecasts.
  • Adapting forecasts and schedules as required to improve key performance indicators.
  • Performing ad hoc analyses and reports to address specific business needs and challenges, including cost-saving measures.
  • Communicating forecasting results and staffing recommendations to management and other collaborators. Providing clear explanations of assumptions, uncertainties, and potential impacts on levels and costs.

About you

  • Proven experience in resource planning and the end-to-end planning cycle.
  • Comprehensive forecast modelling skills, including WFM knowledge.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Problem solver with a curiosity about developing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with collaborators and peers, confidently influencing with a highly credible style including presentations up to CCO level.
  • A natural communicator, able to convey complex messages and themes in an engaging manner to drive understanding and consensus.
