Location:    Flexible working with up to 3 days a week in our VHQ, Crawley
Contract:     12 month fixed term contract

In a nutshell

As an Analyst in the Cashbook team, at Virgin Atlantic Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely Financial and Management accounts. This unique opportunity allows you to manage a sub-section of the Cashbook (Banks and/or BS) accounts within the Trial Balance of the VAL Group. You will be tasked with processing end-to-end cashbook postings, including unremitted sales for any allocated bank or GL accounts. Your efforts will ensure the integrity of these accounts through detailed reconciliations and analysis, completed within strict month-end reporting deadlines.

Day to day


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing global bank reconciliations and BS GL reconciliations for assigned accounts.
  • Managing UK and/or global cashbook accounts.
  • Supporting the reconciliation and maintenance of cash suspense/clearing accounts for VAA & VAH.
  • Addressing AP/AR unreconciling items.
  • Assisting with the reconciliation and maintenance of the cash suspense/clearing accounts.
  • Collaborating on various projects to enhance accounting processes and systems.
  • Supporting team efforts during year-end audits and ERP UAT periods.

About you

  • Strong technical and operational accounting skills, with the ability to acquire new processes.
  • Previous accounting/General Ledger exposure or understanding of DRs/CRs.
  • Experience in account analysis, reconciliation, and foreign currencies.
  • Strong system skills, particularly with Oracle Financials and Business Objects.
  • Curious approach with the ability to question and enhance processes.
  • Proven capability to prioritize work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
