The airline sales industry is fast paced and competitive. But that’s what makes it so rewarding, right? And when you work for an iconic brand like Virgin Atlantic with a world class reputation for incredible products and experiences, there’s even more to love. When you join our team, you’ll be expected to get to grips with the industry and marketplace quickly so you can forge ahead and make the most of revenue opportunities.

You’ll need to be proactive and adopt a mix of short and long term strategies. Because retaining and nurturing existing client relationships and establishing new ones is such a big part of the job, it’s really important that you’re a super sharp communicator and a natural at managing relationships.

Sometimes you’ll work independently. Other times, you’ll work as part of a wider team. So a positive, flexible and committed approach and an ability to take on lots of responsibility are really important characteristics. Because we work, we do like to play hard. We might have to go to late night or weekend events but they’re always great fun and it makes the work we do even more engaging.

Marketing

Virgin Atlantic is as famous for its marketing as it is flying planes. We’re known and loved for the fabulous ways we tell people about our brand and the experiences they can expect when they fly. We’ve even won prestigious awards for the way we go about our marketing. Our marketing isn’t just “nice to have”. It generates a lot of revenue.

Our Marketing department works hand-in-hand with teams around the business: creating new consumer propositions, developing digital products, crafting strategy, and delivering tell-your-friends experiences for Virgin Atlantic customers.

Within the department, you’ll find teams for Brand and Communications, Digital Experience, Trading, Performance, CRM and Loyalty, plus a large Creative Studio. Recent highlights for the team include creating the world’s first live 19 location global TV ad, which launched our new Seize the Holiday platform. The launch was named Marketing Week’s Campaign of the Year!

We might not be the biggest airline in the world and despite being outspent by our competitors, we achieve a huge amount of success through our distinctive and clever approach to marketing across all channels. There are many roles within our central marketing team including CRM, B2B and consumer activity roles. Our brand team looks after design, copywriting, account and event management.

Corporate Affairs and Communications

We do some pretty exciting things here at Virgin Atlantic, and we like to make sure everybody knows about them. Join our Public Relations or Social Media teams and you’ll be responsible for creating a buzz around what we do, securing media coverage around the world and managing the reputation of our brand. Whether that’s through writing attention grabbing press releases, social media activity, organising show stopping events, or publicising our stance on issues that matter.
