In a nutshell

As Manager - HSE your role will be to deliver competent health, safety and environmental advice to the business in order to reduce the likelihood of accidents/incidents occurring and to ensure compliance with all relevant HS&E legislation, regulation and best practice both in the UK and overseas. 

Day to day

Respectively lead either the HSE Compliance or Auditing function, ensuring; 1) all oversight is maintained on all compliance related to HSE for VAA (including VAH), 2) all required HSE audits are completed either directly or indirectly. Note: the respective Compliance and auditing management functions are interchangeable.

In conjunction with, and as directed by, the Senior Manager HSE lead the end-to-end management and oversight of all VAA associated HSE risk, including maintaining close co-ordination between the respective roles (Compliance and Auditing).

Acting duty for and delegate (as required) for the Senior Manager HSE, including engagement and briefing of SLT levels and above.

Championing the promotion of safety and risk management and continuous improvement across the business in a pragmatic and enabling manner.

About you

Are you a NEBOSH accredited, Chartered IOSH professional with experience with implementing HS&E management into diverse organisations? If so, we think you would love this opportunity! 

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered IOSH working towards Chartered Fellow
  • ILM qualification (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (Level 3) certificate (or equivalent) 
  • Experience of implementing HS&E management within diverse organisations
  • Knowledge of HS&E legislative framework
  • Experience in the leadership and management of people
  • Proven experience in driving strategy and initiatives with little guidance and ability to be resolute in determining the outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Integrity and independence with an ability to balance safety and risk against business and operational demands.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively in order to arrive at effective solutions
  • Confident and positive approach. Ability to motivate, inspire and lead
