How to become Cabin Crew
At Virgin Atlantic, becoming part of our Cabin Crew requires the right mix of training, skills and characteristics. We look for individuals who share our values and can act as ambassadors for the Virgin brand. Our crew are the face of Virgin Atlantic which means they deliver the fantastic service that’s made us world famous.
When you apply for a position with us the first stage of the process will require you to submit your CV and answer some screening and application questions to demonstrate your experience in relation to the Cabin Crew role.
If successful through this stage of the process you will then be invited to complete a short video interview where you will be asked some further questions around your experience.
The 3rd stage of the process is an assessment day which you will be invited to attend and this will involve group exercises and an individual interview in order to find out more about you. This is your opportunity to really show your passion for joining us and how your experience relates to the role.

What are the Cabin Crew requirements?
To join our Cabin Crew family, there are a few things you’ll need to consider:
- You must have the right to live and work in the UK with no criminal convictions
- You must be aged 18 years or over
- You should hold a valid passport which permits you to travel to all of the destinations that we fly to
- You need to be fluent in written and spoken English (a second language is desirable)
What does it take to be a Cabin Crew member at Virgin Atlantic?
There are a number of qualities that we look for in our Cabin Crew. Above all we look for people who are resilient, supportive, caring, hands on and positive. We take pride in the fact that our Cabin Crew are from all walks of life, which means you don’t need previous Cabin Crew experience to join us. We’re more interested in what you can bring to Virgin Atlantic.
Stephen – Taking off on a new career
When Stephen Williams’ youngest son left home to go to university, he chose to take on a complete career change. After meeting one of our Cabin Crew by chance at a party who told him he’d be perfect as part of our team he decided to apply for a Cabin Crew role with us.

What’s involved in Cabin Crew training?
When you join us as a Cabin Crew member you’ll be taught everything you need to know through our intensive but highly rewarding five to six week training programme at our world class training facility. And your learning won’t stop there – you’ll have to complete yearly exams to ensure you are up to date with your safety and security training and you’ll also be checked on your knowledge before each flight.
Our training programme is designed to equip you with all the knowledge you’ll need to perform your role of Cabin Crew. It will also prepare you for dealing with any emergency or medical situations that may arise whilst on duty. Cabin Crew training requires time, energy and dedication but we’ll make sure you have fun along the way too. After all you’ll be learning alongside a group of trainees who are in exactly the same position.
