In a nutshell
We are on an exciting journey to create the Most Loved Travel Company and are building a fantastic team to help make our ambition a reality.
The Risk Manager role sits in the Treasury team, within the Corporate Finance department. The role will cover all areas of Financial Risk Management. In particular, the individual will be responsible for proposing and developing fuel price risk, foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk strategies, to be applied under a range of potential market scenarios
They will be responsible for identifying and sensitising underlying exposures against a range of market conditions and hedging strategies
They will also be responsible for the execution of hedging contracts in line with Board approved Policy/Strategy, which would involve working closely with hedging counterparties, feeding back on pricing/performance and managing credit lines
The performance of the above will be determined through KPI reporting and a key enabler of this will be for the candidate to benchmark performance against market and plan targets
Day to day
Calculation and monitoring of Fuel, FX and Interest rate exposures and the inter-relationship between these
Development and execution of hedging strategies appropriate for the business
Validating Mark to Market calculations and Margin Calls
Providing reports and commentary on market movements as required
Contributing towards appropriate performance measures
Determining cash flow and P&L at risk
Calculation of natural hedges / risk offsets across the business and monitor the efficiency of these
Managing revaluation risk and IFRS16 exposures
Producing weekly reporting pack to review the prior week hedging activity and to propose hedging strategy going forward
Proactively ensuring they remain within compliance and risk appetite parameters. Demonstrating an understanding of the importance of managing counterparty risk

This is a critical role within our organisation where you will be required to work to a high level of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail, with the ability to simplify complex commercial and financial problems and solutions into succinct presentations and narrative.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with financial derivatives, ideally across a number of asset classes, calculating exposures, utilising natural hedges and running sensitivity analysis.
You will need to have a strong understanding of a range of deal structures and trading strategies and the times when different strategies would be appropriate to an organisation.
You will also need to have a strong accounting background and understanding of balance sheet revaluation, IFRS16 and hedge accounting
Drawing on strategic, critical thinking and a range of different analytical skills, and being highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word, you must be able to successfully demonstrate how your input has resulted in business benefits. You will have the ability to interrogate large sets of data and develop accurate and usable financial models.
Ideally you'll be educated to degree level or equivalent and will be qualified or studying for a qualification in Finance/Accounting and/or Treasury.
