In a nutshell

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Aircraft IFE Technician within Cabin Maintenance to join the Engineering function at Virgin Atlantic (VAA) you will be responsible for accomplishing delegated In Flight Entertainment (IFE), maintenance tasks on VAA aircraft. This will be completed to the required Airworthiness standards.

Your primary objective is to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft by achieving, and striving to exceed the standards of airworthiness set by Corporate and Airworthiness Authority policy, procedures and requirements.


Day to day

Primarily based in the Gatwick Hangar, carry out hands-on routine maintenance of aircraft IFE systems and components to include inbound defect rectification, fault finding and software uploads.

Adhere to manufacturers approved maintenance procedures and the instruction of the designated Cabin Maintenance Supervisor.

Carry out delegated tasks without supervision using own initiative.

Apply engineering practices to duties and to fully communicate actions.

Participate in appraisals.

Drive effective control of costs as applicable to job role.

Optimise revenue and manage cost.

Drive compliance with Engineering safety.


About you

As an IFE Maintenance Technician, ideally you will hold, or will be working towards European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) / Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Licence qualifications coupled with the associated certification responsibilities, as required.

Ideally you will have been trained within an IFE vendor facility and have suitable relevant qualifications.

As a holder of company approvals on VAA fleet aircraft types, in respect of EASA/CAA Licence, you'll have successfully completed a recognised aeronautical apprenticeship or equivalent or possess relevant experience.
