In a nutshell

As Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance you'll have oversight for all Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) aircraft related maintenance activity at Heathrow. You'll ensure this is in-line with Safety, regulatory and quality requirements and to defined timeline targets. Ensuring effective commercial management of all budgetary costs and fleet cost of ownership.

Day to day

Define departmental budget and deliver maintenance plans to time
Deliver cost, quality and productivity improvements through the use of Continuous Improvement
Deliver effective safety leadership and operational decision-making
Provide sound leadership and direction to team
Set clear and measurable team and individual objectives and lead performance appraisal process effectively
Ensure team training and development needs are delivered, run and are in compliance
Coach, mentor, lead and develop team through change

About you

Do you have a proven experience in Airline Maintenance or Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry? Do you possess an aircraft engineering qualification? Then this could be the role for you.
Alongside the above we're looking for the following:
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to make clear and concise presentations to management and others.
* Strong negotiation and commercial contract management skills
* In depth knowledge of CAA, EASA and other National Airworthiness Authority Regulations.
* Strong conflict resolution and influencing skills.
* Solid communication and relationship management skills to build and maintain relationships with external companies and other internal departments within Virgin Atlantic.
* The ability to manage multiple priorities under aggressive deadlines
* Strong project management skills.
