This is a fantastic opportunity for a Scrum Master to join the Technology department at Virgin Atlantic. It's a great time to join Technology at Virgin Atlantic as we embark on a number of exciting projects in our Technology department. Are you the next Scrum Master to join our team?

Working as part of our professional PM practice, your passion will deliver project to time and quality using Agile principles and Scrum practices. You will reporting to the Manager – Project Management and you'll be a member of a wider team of PMs.

Day to day

Guide the project team and wider business to use Scrum practices to deliver value to our internal and external customers

Guide the team to become self-organising

You'll take care to support and coach the Product Owner, especially in establishing and maintaining the product backlog

Remove impediments by identifying and engaging with the right people at the right time

Foster a high-trust, low-blame environment where issues can be raised in the spirit of collaborative problem solving

Assess the delivery maturity and coach colleagues to higher levels of maturity, at a sustainable and comfortable pace.

Implement the right controls so the project remains on target.

About you

As a Scrum Master, you will have experience of hands-on project/delivery management with a track record of Agile delivery and having worked on complex and sizeable projects. A data Wizard, you’ll have knowledge of numerous tools and techniques applicable to the Agile approach (Sprint Planning techniques, Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats, etc).

A natural born communicator, you’ll be confident and work effectively with people from all levels as well as third party suppliers (including off shore) enabling you to build and maintain partner relationships successfully. You'll champion project delivery within Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays, and be an active participant in the Project Delivery Community of Practice.

We’d love it if you hold a formal first or second level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) and use of project delivery tools (e.g. Atlassian JIRA/Confluence) but this is not critical.

You will have experience leading a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, behaviours, and theory.
