In this role you'll be accountable for the timely and accurate reporting of all airline passenger revenue through omni-channel passenger ticket sales and act as the SME for passenger revenue reporting to the wider business. Revenue data is used for company financial statements and supports a wide range of critical decision making across the Virgin Atlantic organisation – it is company critical that the extraction, reconciliation and control governing this data is delivered in a reliable and timely way in line with business requirements. You will lead a team of 3 where you'll be accountable for the accurate reporting of VAA revenues and will play a key role in the monthly hand-off between the RPA reservation system and Oracle.

You will make a significant contribution towards developing and improving revenue reporting both within Finance as part of the month end process; but also the reporting needs of our commercial partners (Sales, Revenue Management, Data Insight etc.). This will require you to be willing to lead and direct project teams as well as inspecting, cleansing and transforming revenue data to support commercial decision making. You will act as a key contact in Revenue Accounting/Financial Accounting, helping stakeholders (Project or BAU) understand the complexity of revenue reporting and ensuring project change or new business requirements are appropriately controlled and understood. With accountability for understanding and challenging the data that is produced by RPA and continually looking to improve revenue processes you'll drive more accurate, efficient and robust revenue data as well as ensuring that the outputs are understandable to non-specialists. As the role and department continue to evolve, this role will sit as a key part of the businesses aspiration to have common view / “truth” for flown revenue and therefore it is expected that you will be taking a leading role in helping shape the revenue reporting architecture at Virgin Atlantic.

You'll also support efficiency improvements in the Revenue Accounts department by providing insight on areas that have the opportunity for streamlining, whether it be through systems and/or process changes. With respect to Financial controls you will be expected to ensure that controls/quality assurance frameworks are kept up to date, communication channels with the rest of the department are maintained, changes to systems and reporting judgments are well controlled and accounting is performed accurately with minimal adjustments. It is expected that you will ensure a right first time, every time reporting culture. You will also be actively involved and sometimes sponsoring major systems projects (e.g. Expanded JV reporting, Billing Rejections Improvements, New Route Implementation considerations, etc).


About you

To be successful in your application we're looking for someone who has proven analytical skills as in this role you'll be working with large data sets. You will have the ability to prioritise in a high pressured situation, be proactive, and have the ability to adapt to fast changing situations. Learning quickly you'll have the ability to convey complex information simply.
