In a nutshell

This role is designed to help drive VAA’s strategic priorities through our UK and global flagship airports, focussing mainly, but not exclusively, on Heathrow and the CAA’s H7 pricing settlement process. This role will help co-ordinate VAA’s priorities for airports through a cross functional group consisting of Airports, Government Affairs, Communications, Networks and Finance ensuring VAA is represented at all the various airport forums and bi-laterals to deliver our vision. This role will require collaboration with our JV partners and the broader airline community.

Day to day

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support the development and delivery of VAA’s strategic approach to the CAA’s H7 pricing settlement process

Ensure VAA’s views are provided in all airport regulated sessions for example, H7 planning, capital and infrastructure spend at LHR and other regulated charges governance

By building strong relationships, work closely with regulatory bodies and airport authorities, such as the CAA and HAL, to help deliver VAA’s priorities

Provide support in VAA’s approach to regulatory matters and airport charges for VAA’s flagship airports internationally

Monitor the global landscape of airport infrastructure and charges, reporting on significant developments

Co-ordinate VAA’s strategic priorities for flagship airports with JV partners to ensure aligned visions where possible

This role holder will need to be able to build strong relationships across the business and externally at all levels to be able to influence our strategic vision for airports. Whilst also demonstrating ‘best in partnering’ at all times.

About you

We’re looking for somebody who can demonstrate an appreciation for complex airport regulatory matters. A strategic thinker who can build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. - Experience of working in a strategic environment essential
- Industry knowledge of a regulatory airport environment desirable
- Must be an excellent communicator at all levels with the ability to influence
- Proven excellent PowerPoint/Excel skills are essential
- An advocate of “Best in Partnering” and clearly able to demonstrate this
- Must be passionate about the customer experience and operational excellence
- Excellent letter writing skills and attention to detail required for this role
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken essential in this role
- Strong organizational skills are required in this role along with the ability to prioritize workload
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally
- Ability to challenge and influence internal and external senior stakeholders for the best for VAA
