In a nutshell

As an eCommerce manager you’ll play a part in delivering the digital trading strategy, driving traffic, sales and profit growth, whilst achieving and exceeding targets and core KPIs. Working within the ecommerce function you’ll manage the presentation of the promotion and pricing offer across all digital channels, making sure we are presenting our customers with appropriate promotional and trading solutions to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
Reviewing competitor digital trading propositions, you’ll inform and support our digital trading strategy making clear recommendations as required and providing accurate planning data to support operational capacity modelling. You’ll work alongside our marketing team to deliver seamless journeys to support the ROI of digital traffic / revenue acquisition activity to ensure spend is optimised to drive the best value for Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA).
Championing the ecommerce function and teams across the business, demonstrating personal capability and contributing in building the function across the Digital and Distribution function.

Day to day

Delivering the on-line trading strategy in order to achieve budgets in line with the overall VAA strategic plan
Deliver budget and profit targets for VAA ecommerce revenues
Execute actions to address lifts and drags impacting search conversion at a merchandise level
Working alongside marketing functions to drive traffic growth and return of investment.
Represent Digital at weekly trading meetings when required.
Work with Rev Management to identify competitive, profitable promotional and trading opportunities. These will drive revenue, optimise traffic, seasonality and commercial propositions including Rest of World and all direct sales via distribution channels
Work with Distribution to ensure direct business growth and alignment to distribution strategy.
Ensure all ecommerce commercial plans are aligned and transparent across all channels, including direct sales distribution.
Work with Insight to build analytical models to support return on investment across all trading activities, whilst actively seeking to identify and address conversion opportunities.
Work with UX to ensure trading propositions are supported with content as required, seeking to maximise customer engagement and conversion opportunities.
Influence the CRM programme ensuring trading activity is supported across marketing channels as appropriate and within agreed operational governance.
Provide accurate and timely trading updates for all key commercial forums.

About you

Have you gained digital trading experience within a commercial, dynamic environment? Do you have a proven track record in defining and delivering aggressive, profitable growth targets? Are you experienced with web-based analytics applications (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics etc.)? Then you could be who we’re looking for.
With strong analytical and commercial capabilities, you’ll be experienced using traffic acquisition and conversion drivers such as PPC and SEO. Possessing excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written you’ll be hardworking and have a can-do attitude. With demonstrable experience understanding and applying user experience best practice, you’ll have the ability to influence others and be a results driven individual.
