In a nutshell
As Country Manager - Canada you'll be part of the Regional Leadership team, where you'll represent Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) interests in the territory and be the face of the airline for media, industry events and general business networking.
You will manage revenue performance to deliver the objectives, alongside holding VAA’s Power of Attorney for the country. You'll be responsible for delivering online and appointed offline territory passenger revenue targets by recommending and implementing commercial and sales strategies with efficient and effective use of multiple resources, tools and distribution channels. You will work alongside our Joint Venture partners.
Day to day
- Rollout effective PLB (override) and commission format delivering to territory objectives
- Develop and internal and external value
- Ensure overhead remain within budget by working with the local finance.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to deliver against territory commercial objectives
- Recommend and regularly review distribution strategy
- Respond efficiently to competitor activity (pricing and in market). Recommend proactive activity (pricing, incentives for e.g) to drive profitable revenue
- Ensure sensible and accurate customer segmentation and resulting behaviours.
- Develop annual sales plan, working alongside Delta partners
- Liaise with UK based Sales Support management to ensure global quality of service
- Analyse data sources to support sales activity, Identify and act on incremental tactical opportunities, and develop reporting to support day to day sales activity
- Identify and deliver on pricing opportunities
- Work alongside our partner sales teams including Delta Air Lines as part of our Transatlantic Joint Venture
- Establish clear performance expectations, ensuring a high level of accountability and ownership and provide regular and annual performance reviews/feedback.
- Provide inspiring, energising leadership in market
- Support the management of Delta team resources, activity, and workflow.
- Work with other functional country stakeholders including airports, local cabin crew, cargo to ensure that the Country operation is aligned with legislative requirements.
- Ensure emergency Procedures/BCPs are up to date and tested with teams trained.
About you
Do you have proven Sales experience, demonstrable business skills / commercial foresight and the ability to influence JV partners and customers to deliver business plans/objectives? Are you a strategic planner with the ability to translate strategic business plans into functional plans and deliver on these? Then this could be the role for you!

- Collaborative with great interpersonal skills, along with the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
- Demonstrated ability to influence others, negotiate and resolve conflicts to achieve company objectives
- Leadership skills, with the ability to articulate the business strategy, gain alignment and maintain morale and team spirit
- Effective resource planning skills, analytical with excellent verbal and written communication
- The right to live and work in Toronto
