In a nutshell

The role of Supply Chain Analyst is primarily to support the Financial Inventory Manager and help deliver the key objectives set; thus contributing towards the overall VAA goals. This will include the tracking and monitoring of all Aircraft Operations Inventory value (owned & leased), budgetary analysis/reporting and identification of cost improvement ideas. You will interrogate business financials to support Management decision making and support Inventory Optimisation activities – both Operational & Financial.


Day to day

INVENTORY FOCUS: 50%

- Produce key Matrices/KPIs timely and to the quality required
- Data Management & Interrogation
- Reporting automation and continuous improvement
- Non-Moving, Obsolete & Surplus report generation and analysis
- Track and proactively report on inventory initiatives to minimise and manage opportunity loss or operational risk
- Ad-hoc reporting

BUDGETARY FOCUS: 20%

- As directed, generate perspective of business financial performance
- Produce monthly cost reports for the cost review meeting; including variance analysis and commentary; and report by exception
- Undertake forecast variance analysis at agreed intervals during the year in conjunction with budget holders
- Ensure all budget holders understand the financial information they are sent every month and to answer questions they may have
- Work with stakeholders to develop automated reporting interfaces to improve access to management information
- During Budget period; assist budget holders with preparation of budget templates, Collate budget holder planning and budgeting information, produce the budget pack
- Budgetary/Cost control meeting administration & reporting

PROCUREMENT & CONTRACTS FOCUS: 30%

- Using the MIS; produce reports and analysis by variables such as Suppliers, Products, fleet, etc.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis


About you

We’re looking for an Analyst with a Supply Chain background, with a broad SCM/Analytic knowledgel. If this sounds like you and you have the below skills/experience, we think you would love this role!

- PowerBi
- Crystal reports/ Ultramain (desirable)
- MS Excel & MS Access(Macro level desirable)
- Business Objects/Oracle /Other reporting tool an advantage
- MS Office suite inc Word & PowerPoint
- SQL/Database analytics experience an advantage
- Excellent Numerical Literacy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (at all levels)
- Highly articulate with the ability to explain complex ideas and thoughts clearly to a variety of audiences
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to translate complex data and document in a clear and concise way
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, also displaying self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work simultaneously on several different initiatives displaying excellent time management and organisational skills
- An education to degree standard or demonstration of ability to the same level, delivered in a working environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Investment Appraisal techniques and Accounting terminology
- Understanding of factors affecting Total cost of ownership of components and Inventory related knowledge
- Business Finance & Accounting understanding
