Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri

In a nutshell

Reporting to the Senior Manager-Sales Planning you’ll be responsible for supporting Virgin Atlantic’s Sales efforts, including planning, analytics, effectiveness, and team leadership. You'll work alongside a small team of analysts to support the execution of VAA’s sales and distribution strategy. In addition to this you will be actively involved with integrating VS and AF/KL agency contracting subject to regulatory approval.


Day to day

Liaise and coordinate with management information specialists on the development of new reporting platforms.

Utilise analytical models to successfully create, negotiate and manage agency revenue programmes and market propositions to achieve Virgin Atlantic’s revenue and cost budgets.

Assist sales managers by building and analysing agency incentive deals and performance using airline sales planning tools.

Create Virgin Atlantic's custom analytical tools (spreadsheets, databases etc.) to assist in providing quality insight into agency deals and performance.

Assist Head of Global Sales Development with ad hoc projects that cut across all departments within Virgin Atlantic.


About you

To apply for this role you will need to have demonstrable analyst experience, preferably within the airline industry and a strong understanding of airline economics of business drivers. You'll have an understanding of systems engineering and design concepts and the ability to manipulate large volumes of data to draw strategic insight. Understanding of airline fare filling, IATA contract law and drafting principles would be an advantage in this role but not essential.

The type of individual suited to this role will have proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, make decisions in ambiguous situations and be comfortable with an autonomous style of working. You'll have excellent written and verbal skills and confident at presenting to large audiences. If you also have proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders this could be the role for you.

There is a requirement to be flexible to travel internationally on occasion and it's preferred if you have an advanced degree in Business, Economics or Airline Management or equivalent.
