Welcome to Crawley

Welcome to our Crawley offices. If you’re thinking of applying for a head office position or you’re about to join us in a new role, this page will give you all the information you need to know about where you’ll be based.

Our head office locations

Our two Crawley locations; The Base and The VHQ can be found on the same road in the Manor Royal Business District, about three miles south of Gatwick Airport.

The VHQ

The VHQ is the newest of our Head Office buildings, which opened in summer 2016 and is home to most of our corporate functions as well as being the main Head Office for our friends at Virgin Holidays. It offers a contemporary, dynamic and flexible workspace that truly reflects our spirit and passion for putting the customer at the heart of everything we do. The building has lots of varied spaces from open and collaborative to secluded and focus- driven spaces, this not only encourages a more activity based working style but it also supports the wellbeing of our people.

Virgin Atlantic Headquarters

The VHQ is home to many of our business areas such as our Commercial teams, who manage our pricing and plan our routes and our safety-obsessed folk in Operations, Safety & Security who uphold the highest security standards in the industry. The friendly faces of Marketing & Sales are based here too, keeping our brand heading skywards and making sure the rest of the world knows about it.

Down the corridor, our Customer Experience department looks after every part of the passenger journey, from inflight meals to the design of our Clubhouses, while our number-crunching Finance & Procurement teams purchase everything from envelopes to engines, ensuring we stay within budget in the process.

The VHQ is a really fantastic place to work, there’s also a natural light-filled restaurant and coffee bar which is open throughout the day – perfect for meals, meetings or simply musing on your next big idea.

The Base

The Base is a state of the art facility where our cabin crew go through all their training – you’ll often see them being put through their paces on the rig and lifesize mock-up plane which sits right in the middle of the building.

The Base is also home to our Engineering, Cabin Services, Occupational Health, Facilities, Uniforms and HR & Training departments.

Virgin Atlantic Town Square

Most meetings take place in the colourful Town Square coffee shop which overlooks the rig, and then there’s the on-site hair and beauty salon, to keep you looking tip top. There’s also a staff shop which sells everything from birthday cards and beauty products to luggage and other travel related products – not to mention our famous selection of Pick ‘n’ Mix for keeping those energy levels up in the afternoons.

The Base is a sleek and contemporary building and an exciting place to work. There’s always something going on, so don’t be surprised to see a film crew one day or a glamorous photo shoot the next. For Virgin Atlantic employees, it’s just another day at the office.

Beautiful sights around the corner

Our offices in Crawley are a short distance away from some of the county’s most beautiful places. From the dramatic landscape of the South Downs, where you can choose from a variety of walking trails, to the bustling city centre of Brighton, where you can meander around the historic Lanes, not forgetting the famous Bluebell railway line in East Grinstead, a preserved steam train running through the heart of Sussex, enough to satisfy the most keenest of train spotters! There is such a vast array of things to do and we’ve only captured a handful, but rest assured there will be something to suit everyone.
