Pilot Training Programme – Future Flyers

Don’t just dream of being a pilot. Virgin Atlantic could turn your aspirations into reality with the Future Flyers Programme. Virgin Atlantic Future Flyers Programme is a unique opportunity to build your career as an ambassador for one of the world’s most iconic brands, flying exclusively long-haul on some of the most technologically advanced aircraft around.

Virgin Atlantic pilot

As you’d expect from Virgin Atlantic, the quality of training and support we offer will be second-to-none. So we’ll expect the highest standards and passion from you too. We’ve created a structured pilot training programme that leads towards the Civil Aviation Authority’s latest Multi Pilot Licence (MPL) and a position as a First Officer on the Airbus A330-300.

We have selected L3 Airline Academy as our exclusive partner to deliver your training. The Virgin Atlantic team together with L3 Airline Academy and the UK CAA have worked jointly to tailor L3’s world-renowned airline pilot career programme, L3 WINGS to meet our specific needs for our A330 wide body, long-haul operations.

Training

The programme will expose you to Virgin Atlantic’s standard operating procedures right from the start, with flight and simulator training tailored specifically to Virgin’s operational requirements. The first 6 months will be classroom based in the UK; building your aviation knowledge and examining it regularly. Once you progress beyond the classroom you will undertake some flight training at L3 Airline Academy’s Crew Training Centre – either Phoenix in Arizona or Hamilton in New Zealand.

Upon your return to the UK your newly learnt skills will be refined, developed and examined in some of the world’s newest generation full motion simulators back at L3 Airline Academy’s headquarters in Southampton as well as with us at our Virgin Atlantic training facilities at “The Base” near Gatwick. Uniquely, you’ll also experience a flight to one of our global destinations.

This is essential exposure to our operation, enhancing your knowledge and giving you a first-hand understanding of a long-haul pilot’s day-to-day working life. We’ll be committed to your development every step of the way and a team of front-line Liaison Pilots will be on hand to answer your questions, provide feedback and mentor you in preparation for becoming a First Officer.

When you graduate from the programme, our hugely experienced pilot team will help you take that next big step on to the flight deck ensuring you uphold the highest standards and exceed expectations on every journey.
